Ingredients for Chutney
1 large Pyaj (Onion) roughly chopped
2-3 Tomato roughly chopped
1/2 tbsp Urad Daal
1 tbsp Chana Daal
2 Lehsun (Garlic) pieces
A pinch of Haldi (Turmeric)
3-4 Lal Mirch Sabut(Red Chilly)
1/2tbsp Jeera(Cumin)
1 tbsp Oil
1 tbsp Oil
Salt as required
Ingredients for Tadka
1/2 tbsp Sarson sabut(mustard)
1/2 tbsp Jeera
1tbsp Oil
A pinch of Hing
1-2 Kadhi Patta
Nimlbu(Lemon) or Imli(Tamarind) if needed
Steps for chutney
Dry roast 1/2tbsp Urad Daal and 1tbsp Chana Daal till it become golden brown and aromatic.
Put 1/2 tbsp Jeera to the same hot pan and set it aside for cool.
Add Lal Mirch to another pan with oil & make it crisp. Keep it aside.
Add 1-2 Lehsus pieces with 1 large onion And fry a little then 3 add chopped tomatoes. Sprinkle a pinch of turmeric and salt.
Fry till the Tamato become mushy.
Grind the roasted ingredients and then add Tomato Onion and Lehsun into it. Blend well till it become a smooth paste . Make it cool.
Steps for Tadka
In pan With oil add Sarson seeds and Jeera as it start crackle add Kadhi Patta, a pinch of Hing with broken Lal Mirch and add the grind paste.
Let it cool. Serve with idli dosa or paratha.
U can add Imlli or lemon juice to give it a tangy twist.
NOTE: for refreshing taste you can make it with some Mint leaves.
